THE CLIENT

Där lighting is one of the UK’s best-known designers and distributors of home lighting.

Their designers create exceptional, original lighting designs that are renowned for their individuality and innovation, bringing excitement and ambiance to any home, inside and out

THE CHALLENGE

  • The company’s website was failing in a number of areas
  • The site needed a complete design overhaul, with a vastly improved user experience, especially for B2B customers.
  • The Där lighting brand needed to be better represented in almost every way, including in showcasing the products.
  • The site wasn’t SEO-friendly and was achieving wholly inadequate results for such a premium brand.

OUR APPROACH

It was clear from the start that design would be the cornerstone of this project. We started the re-design from scratch, placing the user experience at the forefront of the project.

We delivered two versions of the new website – one for B2B and one for B2C. By designing an easy-to-use site with a clean and contemporary look, we ensured that product search and selection would be simple and straightforward.

We elevated the Där lighting brand to give it much more of a premium look. This was achieved in part by using Där lighting’s own high-quality product photography.

Other enhancements included –

  • The facility to download PDF reference documents
  • A find-nearest-stockist feature
  • An improved filter for sorting listed products
  • An Add to Wishlist facility, alongside downloadable technical data sheets
  • Improved navigation

THE RESULT

The client is delighted with their new website. Its elegant, upscale feel has elevated the Där lighting brand to where it needs to be. Already, the website is enjoying more favourable positioning on the search engine results pages. Crucially, customers are benefiting, in every respect, from a much-improved user experience.

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Rak Design took all our requirements and ideas to create a coherent and beautiful website design. They then applied this to our existing website all within 4 months. We’ve had great feedback from our customers, both about the look of the website but the ease of use.

Our existing site was already complex, integrating to our EPOS system and custom made database, as well as having a complex B2B pricing architecture and customisable product visualiser. Rak Design was able to streamline a number of existing problems and advise us on how to achieve a more efficient website.
