The Story

Lorentz are a German manufacturer of solar-powered water pumping solutions well established in the international market. Their solar pumps are built for off-grid, rural and often hostile environments which require reliable and simple solutions. By harnessing the power of the sun, Lorentz is able to bring fresh, clean water to communities and individuals across the world for drinking, irrigation and responsible leisure applications. With over 20 years’ experience in pioneering design and manufacture of solar pumps, Lorentz is global market leaders in this important area and active in over 120 countries.

SOLUTION

Rak Design redeveloped the logo, taking out the fine black lines from the sun emblem which disappeared when the logo was reduced in size. We softened the edges of the rays and left the spaces in the image white, whilst tilting the whole logo slightly. The softening and angling of the logo creates a much more contemporary presence. In order to facilitate a consistent and accessible corporate identity across borders, Rak Design developed an in-house corporate style guide for Lorentz. This guide clearly sets out the correct and incorrect use of colour schemes, logo use and positioning, strapline, identity angles, and application logos. Designed to be an easy-to-use reference for corporate identity in the international market, the guide has enabled Lorentz to create consistency in its global branding.
